The wedding day started in the early hours of the day. Because the bride and groom were having two wedding ceremonies in one day, we wanted to start early to photograph the bride and groom getting ready for their Hindu wedding ceremony. We loved capturing all of the beautiful outfit details and jewelry while admiring gorgeous sunrise over Lake Michigan and Navy Pier.

Sapna looked stunning in the bridal makeup. Her red lips and smokey eyes enhanced her natural beauty. She wore dark red lengha with gold embroidery, her metallic gold high heels were a beautiful addition to her bridal outfit.

Once we captured the bride and groom getting ready in their hotel rooms, we were all ready and excited to capture the first look. We often get questions about whether the bride and groom should see each other before the wedding. Although we always leave it to the couple to decide, we love it when our clients decide to have the first look before the ceremony. Capturing the anticipation before seeing each other and then intimate and the emotional reveal is one of our best candid moments to photograph on any wedding day. Often, these are one of our clients’ wedding photos.

Nihil and Sapna’s first look or reveal as some call it was just perfect.  The outdoor terrace was just a perfect setting. We were lucky to have not only one but two first looks! One before the Hindu ceremony and the second one before we left for the Catholic ceremony.

The bride and groom chose a beautiful venue for their Hindu wedding and ceremony. The rooftop of Loews Hotel was a beautiful outdoor setting for their wedding. The brightness of the sky and beautiful views of downtown Chicago created a gorgeous and picturesque setting.

All décor details were carefully planned by Yanni Design Studio with a color scheme consisting of red and gold. Tall gold vases with red resh roses gave a very romantic vibe to their outdoor wedding. Their wedding stage with mandap decorated with hundreds of red roses and crystals felt like a romantic and luxurious fairy tale wedding.

After the Hindu ceremony and emotional Vidai, the bride and groom changed outfits for the Catholic wedding. Sapna chose to wear a white strapless dress and Nikhil a dark blue suit. The second location of their wedding ceremony was as spectacular as the first. The couple chose to exchange their wedding vows at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chicago. This spectacular old church with stunning architecture, old organs, and stained glass windows fit their wedding theme perfectly.

After the couple’s second wedding ceremony, we drove back to Loews Hotel to capture the cocktail hour that was held on the hotel’s rooftop following by the wedding reception. The wedding day concluded with some beautiful pictures of the bride groom in the lobby of the hotel.
